Rebecca Haynes: “What’s next for Audubon SC?”
Come out and join us for our September monthly meeting to hear from the Vice President and Executive Director of Audubon South Carolina, Rebecca Haynes, about what’s next for Audubon SC as they expand programming across the state, including the Upstate, in their efforts to address habitat loss through conservation, restoration, policy, and community engagement.
BIO:
Rebecca joined Audubon in March 2023 after nearly a decade with Conservation Voters of South Carolina. She brings a deep understanding of the conservation, political, and policy landscape in South Carolina to her role as Executive Director. During her tenure, Rebecca helped double the size of the organization and tripled its operating budget. She was also pivotal in the development and success of the South Carolina Conservation Coalition, a formal dues-paying coalition comprising over 40 environmental organizations from across the state.
Rebecca began her career as a watershed manager at South Carolina’s Department of Health and Environmental Control and later served as an associate director of Southeast Conservation for American Rivers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a certificate in Environmental Ethics, and a Master of Science degree in Conservation Ecology and Sustainable Development from the University of Georgia. When not at work, you can find Rebecca volunteering in her community or spending time in nature with her husband, son, two dogs, and cat.
