We regret to announce that for the first time in our organization’s history, we have decided to cancel the Holiday Social due to a lack of interest. With only 18 RSVPs, the Upstate Chapter board could not justify the costs—over $160 for venue rental plus additional catering expenses—to continue with the event as planned.

We recognize that this is a challenging time for our country and with the crunch of the holidays, perhaps those factors have contributed to the limited interest in the holiday social. We know this will be disappointing to those who were planning to attend, but we want to be financially responsible with our chapter’s funds. It’s a sobering reminder of the importance of participation to keep our chapter thriving. Community events like these are meant to bring us together, and without your involvement, we cannot make them happen.

As we continue to think about the success and future of our organization it’s important that we have actively engaged members and good attendance at our events and monthly meetings. If you have feedback about the Upstate chapter’s programming and monthly meetings, and what would make it more engaging to you, please complete our feedback survey—your voice matters, and your involvement makes all the difference.

Thank you for your understanding, and we wish you all the best this holiday season.
