At Devils Fork State Park on October 9, 2023 a semi-impromptu Kudzu-killing party consisting of four volunteers dealt a severe death-blow to two patches of Kudzu. Technically the event was meant to be a part of Native Plant Week (October 16-20) — but, it turned out to be more convenient to schedule the after a “Friends of Jocassee” board meeting when the participants just happened to be in the area! (They figured it was better to get rid of the darn things before they became firmly established…)

The small group of four hardy souls represented several conservation organizations including not only Friends of Jocassee, but also the Upstate Chapter of the SCNPS and the Upstate Master Naturalist Association. Thanks, friends!
