Opportunities are blooming at the Pickens County Museum Native Plant Demonstration Garden, where volunteers are making a real impact. On April 20, a special Saturday work session saw ten passionate volunteers—newcomers, a returning friend, and weekend warriors—giving the garden some much-needed love. Their hard work made a noticeable difference, and the native plant garden is flourishing under their care. Read all about it HERE.
In May, the garden has one more Tuesday volunteer mornings, on May 21, from 9 a.m. to about 11 a.m. This sessions is perfect for those who want to contribute to the garden’s beauty while learning about native plants and connecting with other like-minded individuals.
Special Event Alert! On Saturday, May 18, we’re excited to join the inaugural Ag and Arts Day in Pickens County. Are you eager to share your passion for native plants? Here’s your chance! We’re seeking volunteers to lead tours of the garden, narrating its wonders and teaching visitors about the vital connections between native plants, pollinators, and the foods that sustain us all. We’ll provide a script to help you confidently share your knowledge and love of native plants with visitors. To become a tour guide, we kindly request that you sign up in advance and visit the garden beforehand to familiarize yourself with its layout.
Don’t miss this opportunity to make a meaningful contribution! For more details or to sign up, please email Judy Seeley at judy_seeley@hotmail.com.
Your participation will help cultivate a stronger connection between our community and the incredible world of native plants. We look forward to seeing you at the Pickens County Museum Native Plant Demonstration Garden!
