At the Midlands Chapter May Meeting, Brad O’Brien will talk to us about fireflies, common species in the Midlands, and how we can support them in our own yards. Brad is an ambassador for the Xerces Society, and wrote about fireflies and how to protect them locally recently for the Post and Courier. Brad is also active in the Whitehall Garden Club, creating native plant gardens in areas formerly flooded in 2015 in Columbia’s Whitehall Neighborhood.
