We had an good turnout for this year’s Upstate SCNPS Summer Social Potluck Picnic! The heat didn’t deter us from having a fantastic time filled with laughter, delicious food, and great company under the shade of the White Oak Picnic Shelter at Table Rock State Park.

A heartfelt thanks to Diane and Joe Maniscalco for their generous hospitality and for hosting such a wonderful event. Your efforts made the day even more special. We also want to thank everyone who brought food; each dish was a delight and added to the warm, communal atmosphere that brought us all together.

After enjoying the potluck, Rick Huffman, with the assistance of Dan Whitten, led an incredible plant walk around the Carrick Creek Nature Trail. The walk was a highlight, offering insights into the native plants along the trail, and fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the geology, ecological interactions, and communities that sustain these plants.

Enjoy the photos from the event below. If you couldn’t make it this time, we hope to see you at our next gathering!
