The South Carolina Wildlife Federation (SCWF) is on a mission to support the declining population of monarch butterflies by distributing free native milkweed seed packets. These packets contain seeds of swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata), common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca), and butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa), all native to South Carolina.

SC residents can request one free packet per household to contribute to this vital conservation effort. Although requests for 2024 have been fulfilled, SCWF is now accepting requests for 2025. To request your free packet for 2025, please fill out the request form on the SCWF website.

For those interested in making bulk orders, SCWF kindly asks for a donation of 50 cents per packet to cover packaging and assembly costs.

Thank you for helping to protect and sustain the monarch butterfly population in South Carolina!
