BIO:
Tradd Cotter is a microbiologist, professional mycologist, and retired landscape designer with over 30 years of experience cultivating mushrooms both commercially and experimentally. He is the author of the best-selling book Organic Mushroom Farming and Mycoremediation (2014) and has earned numerous prestigious awards, including the Clemson University Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the EPA GRO-U Fellowship Award, and the Gary Lincoff Award.
Tradd’s research focuses on a wide range of topics, including bacterial interactions with fungi, mycopesticides, novel antibiotic discovery, and the isolation of native mycorrhizal species for bioregional-specific plant inoculants. In 1996, he founded Mushroom Mountain, a pioneering company in the field of fungi applications. After selling the company in 2022, Tradd shifted his focus to psychedelic-assisted therapy and medical research.
He is now co-owner of Blue Portal, a company dedicated to advancing mycological innovations, including psychedelic therapy, medicinal applications, and industrial uses for fungi.
