2026 Theme: Rooted In Resilience
As we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the South Carolina Native Plant Society this year, we wanted to bring in the theme of resiliency. Resiliency in both ecosystems and communities as we continue to forge a path forward for the next 30 years and beyond serving to educate, conserve, and restore South Carolina’s unique and special habitats, flora, and fauna.

About the Symposium

Register by September 4th and visit Scnps.org/symposiums/symposium-2026 to see full details and descriptions of the programming for the weekend including,

  • Plants & Pints Social: We’ll kick off the weekend at our casual drop-in welcome party at Edmunds Oast Brewing Company in downtown Charleston complete with light bites and a Plant & Seed Swap!
  • General Sessions: Saturday we’ll start with a 30th Anniversary reflection, statewide business meeting to hear highlights from each Chapter, and hear from keynote speakers and a panel discussion to gain inspiration on how to address resiliency through conservation action.
  • Field Trips: Visit some of the Lowcountry’s most unique habitats – Francis Marion National Forest, Beidler Forest, Caw Caw Interpretive Center, barrier islands, and more – and also experience local community treasures that highlight public native plant gardens, and communities that are building back important ecosystems along the coast.
  • Workshops: Featuring build-a-bog garden and native plant propagation techniques that will have participants take home their own containers and plants.
  • Saturday Evening Social & Silent Auction: Don’t miss this harborside evening that includes a full dinner of Lowcountry Boil/BBQ/sides (vegetarian options as well), beverages, music, and mothing! You’ll also have the chance to browse and bid on the fun items we’ve gathered for our Nature-Themed Silent Auction.
