Water Chats Webinar Series Returns for Another Year

After a successful inaugural year, the Water Chats webinar series is back and you’re invited! Water Chats is a training program that aims to make research on water quality more accessible for natural resource professionals, regulators, and decision-makers. By facilitating this virtual exchange of information, organizers hope to help industry professionals make better-informed decisions that may affect our natural resources. Water is undoubtedly our most precious natural resource, so protecting it is a matter of course. Although the Water Chats program is primarily designed for professionals in natural resource management, all interested parties are welcome to register.

Upcoming Sessions on Water Resilience, Planning, and Preparedness

In September, the program will host a pair of interrelated sessions on Water Resilience, Planning, and Preparedness. Session One will focus on the impacts of climate change on our water. Session Two will explore possible solutions and actions society can take to be better stewards of our environment. Each session is scheduled to run for one and a half hours and is expected to have multiple speakers. According to program representative H. Nix, September’s topic is not highly technical and should have broad appeal. She notes, however, that some of the speakers may assume that attendees will have existing base knowledge of natural resource management.

Remaining Schedule for 2024

  • Tuesday, September 24 – 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM — Water Resilience
  • Thursday, September 26 – 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM — Water Resilience
  • Thursday, October 10 – 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM — Student Research Spotlight

Unable to attend both September sessions? No worries. Registrants will also be granted access to recordings of all 2024 sessions, including the four that took place this past July and August. This is a great opportunity to learn directly from researchers at the forefront of their discoveries on topics like algal bloom and forever chemicals (PFAS).
