Friends of the Reedy River — Adopt-a-Stream Macroinvertebrate Monitoring Workshop
Tuesday, November 11 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PM | Laurens
Hosted by the SC Department of Environmental Services, this free training workshop teaches volunteers how to identify aquatic organisms that serve as water quality indicators. Participants will learn how to collect samples, assess stream conditions, and enter data — becoming certified to monitor local waterways.

Upstate Forever — Invasive Species Removal at Upper Shoals at Glendale
Thursday, November 13 | 1:00–3:00 PM | Spartanburg
Join Upstate Forever, the Tyger River Foundation, and Audubon South Carolina for an invasive species removal workday at the Upper Shoals at Glendale property on Lawsons Fork Creek. Volunteers will help remove autumn olive (Elaeagnus umbellata) to improve habitat for migratory birds and support post-hurricane recovery efforts.
Meeting location: Wofford College Goodall Environmental Studies Center, 351 Broadway St, Glendale, SC 29346.
What to bring: Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes; tools and gloves provided.
