Swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) is a native perennial well-suited to South Carolina landscapes. It produces clusters of pink flowers in summer that attract a wide variety of pollinators and serves as an important host plant for monarch butterfly caterpillars. Adapted to wet meadows, marshes, and stream edges, swamp milkweed thrives in full sun to partial shade and moist soils, making it both an attractive and ecologically valuable addition to pollinator gardens.
