Butterweed from Mary in SC

Posted on |

Is this a type of coneflower (growing in a dry area, sandy soil, 4/22/17)?

Hi Mary,

no, this is one of the ‘butterweeds’, Senecio glabella, also known as Packera glabella. It is a native, but it has been increasing its range in recent years because it is well adapted to wet disturbed areas.
