What is this coral flower, blooming now, in dry sandy soil?
Hi Mary,
actually, the coral color on this plant is not the flowers, it is the color of several new leaves at the tip of each branch. Young leaves are often tinted to protect them from harmful sun rays until they mature; much as we get a tan to protect us. The plant could be a type of Vaccinium, but I am not sure – I need to see more of the plant.
Sincerely,
