Growing in my suburban Charleston backyard in filtered light and sandy loam. It has one upright stalk, and dark green strappy leaves with lighter midrib. No flowers yet.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Virginia,
I can only guess on this one. Let it flower and re-submit. If it has milky sap when injured, it is likely Lactuca graminifolia, if not, it is likely an Aster. At this stage it is very difficult to identify.
I apologize for the delay in my reply. I had software issues that only now have been fixed. Thank you for your patience.
Sincerely,
