Trumpet creeper from Becki

This vine is growing among our Indian Hawthorns and Sago Palms in a sunny area alongside our office. There has been some concern that it is possibly Poison ivy or Oak, can you identify?

Hi Becki!

your plant is the vine known as Trumpet Creeper, Campsis radicans.  It is an aggressive native vine with attractive flowers – but it can take over an area.  As far as toxicity goes, there are some reports of sensitive people developing a short-term skin irritation from handling it – .  I have not heard of anyone personally with this reaction, and I grow it for the hummingbirds – which love it!
