Ruellia caroliniensis from Virginia in SC

I know it’s a Ruellia, and it looks like R. humilis to me, but I don’t remember how it got here, and I don’t think it’s usually found in the Lowcountry?

Thanks for your help,
Virginia

Hi Virginia,

This looks to me like the more common Ruellia caroliniensis, or Wild-petunia.

Sincerely,

Dr. Steven Hill, Botanist, SCNPS
