Princess Tree from Rusty in SC

Dr. Hill, found this growing behind the Darlington County Historical Commission bldg. Can you help identify, please?
Thanks,
Rusty D.

 Hi Rusty,
That’s Andrew Jackson with a Paulownia tomentosa, Princess Tree, in the background :-)

Princess tree is an aggressive ornamental tree native to western and central China which has become invasive in the US. It grows rapidly in disturbed natural areas, including forests, streambanks, and steep rocky slopes. More information can be found here: http://www.nps.gov/plants/alien/fact/pato1.htm
