Orange milkwort from Lauren in SC

Posted on |

Found the beauty by our family pond never seen it there before. It has similar features to a pincushion flower from what coworkers helped me with (I work at woodleys garden center)

Hi Lauren,

your plant is an attractive native usually found on the coastal plain, called Polygala lutea. There are more pictures of it here: http://www.southeasternflora.com/view_flora.php?plantid=642

Sincerely,

Steve Hill, Botanist, SCNPS
