Gnaphalium from Scott in myrtle beach

Spreads rapidly. Reminds me of the start of a cabbage head

based on the general appearance of the plants, I can only give an educated guess that it is a cudweed, either Gnaphalium obtusifolium or Gnaphalium purpureum.  Both are common throughout SC.
