Hi Jeff,

your plant is an attractive native wildflower called Conoclinium coelestinum, formerly named Eupatorium coelestinum.  The common name is Blue Mistflower or Wild Ageratum. It actually is usually found in moist roadside ditches in our area. You can find out more bout it here: https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/conoclinium-coelestinum/

Sincerely,

Dr. Steven Hill, Botanist, SCNPS
