I first found it near the Reddy River in southern Greenville county but have found it elsewhere in Anderson county. It is blueish purple about 16 inches high.

This plant is called blue mist flower, and the scientific name is Conoclinium coelestinum. It is a rather widespread native plant often found in moist ditches. I learned it as Eupatorium coelestinum. Some people call it Ageratum, but that is a different plant.
