Blue mist flower from Arlis in South Carolina

knee high shrub with wispy (hairy) blue flower found in low moist area, dark green triangular leaves

Hi Arlis,

this is the blue mist flower, called either Eupatorium coelestinum or Conoclinium coelestinum.  It is a nice native plant which is also sometimes cultivated. There is a nice description of it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conoclinium_coelestinum

Sincerely,

Steve Hill, Botanist, SCNPS
