This is a vine with orange flowers (trumpet like) Have never seen this one before.
Hi Bert,
your vine is called Ipomoea coccinea, sometimes also called Quamoclit coccinea, and it is related to the cultivated cypress vine. Both are a type of morning glory, and the hummingbirds love it. Some people call it ‘redstar’.
You can find out more about it here: http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=IPCO3
and here: http://missouriplants.com/Redalt/Ipomoea_coccinea_page.html
Thanks for asking!
Sincerely, Steve Hill SCNPS
