Angelica triquinata from Ellie in NC

Could you please identify this NC wildflower for me? I took this picture in Pisgah National Forest along the Blue Ridge Parkway in early September.

Hi Ellie,
Your plant is one of the angelicas in the parsley family [Apiaceae], Angelica triquinata, which is found mostly in the North Carolina mountains.  The image you sent is of the fruits, probably not quite mature – the flowers are no longer present.
