June 11th, 9:30 am: Field Trip
Carvers Gap near Roan Mountain

On June 11, 2022 We will hike the Appalachian Trail to Jane Bald and then the Spur Trail to Grassy Bald for a one way hike of 2.5 miles and then back same way. The Catawba Rhododendron and Flame Azalea will be the main attraction.

There will be a meetup at 9:30am at Mountain Inn & Suites parking at 55 Upward Rd, Flatrock, NC (exit 53 off of I-26 after US 25 joins the interstate).  This meetup would be convenient for people coming from Greenville and West of Greenville.   As another option, meet at Carvers Gap at 11:30am where parking will be a premium.
