Join the Piedmont Chapter for a winter walk near historic Brattonsville. Draper Wildlife Management Area is an 800 acre wildlife refuge with mixed hardwoods, mixed pines, and open field habitats, including approximately 20 acres planted each year with thousands of sunflowers.
CDC guidelines for outside gatherings will be mandatory: face masks are required, social distancing will be practiced, and hand sanitizer will be available.
PLEASE NOTE: There are no restrooms at the site, so plan accordingly. (Rain date – Saturday, February 6)
About the Leader: Robert is a Rock Hill native and naturalist, who spent 20 years as a professor of forestry and biology at Mississippi
State University and Jacksonville State University. Currently, he is a biology professor at Clinton College in Rock Hill
and Education Program Manager for the Museum of York County. Robert is a member of the SC Native Plant Society
and recently taught a Native Plants Gardening Course for the museum.
