Creating a More Colorful Yard with Native Plants, Birds, and Butterflies!

A Free Webinar Presented by Jay Keck, Habitat Education Manager, SC Wildlife Federation

Tuesday, August 25, 2020, 1 – 2 pm via Zoom

Leave the garden for an hour, grab an iced tea, and join Jay as he discusses ways to enhance the beauty of your yard and create a better wildlife habitat using native plants.  Learn appropriate plant choices for attracting birds and pollinators, plus a few simple landscape changes that can provide crucial habitat for these fascinating and beautiful animals.

About Jay:  A Baltimore Oriole changed Jay’s life eight years ago by opening his eyes to the beauty of birds and butterflies, and the delicate relationship between native plants and wildlife.  As the Habitat Education Manager for SC Wildlife Federation, Jay leads bird walks and teaches the birding segment of the Midlands Master Naturalist class.  He also visits schools, churches, private landowners, and businesses to encourage them to enhance their properties to support our local wildlife.  A satisfying weekend for the Keck Family, which includes his wife and two young boys, is walking in nature to find as many wild treasures as possible!

Technical notes about the webinar: To register for the webinar, please email [email protected] – then you will receive the link for the webinar via email. On the day of the webinar, please log in about 5 minutes before 1:00 pm, so we can get everyone situated.  Jay will be hosting the webinar from his location and all audio (microphones) and video (cameras) will be automatically muted/turned-off, so that he will have control of the webinar sounds and images – it makes for a better webinar experience for all.  Questions/comments can be entered in the chat box and will be addressed during the webinar.

My apologies to those unable to participate at mid-day.  The webinar will be recorded and available at a later date via the SC Wildlife Federation YouTube channel.  Please contact me at the email above and I’ll forward the link directly to you as soon as it is available; please direct any pre-webinar questions to the same email.

Looking forward to “seeing” you in the chat box!
