Two of these shrubs sprang up in the wild area of our property in early July.
– intense sun 6 or more hours
– moderate watering/rain
– so far has grown 2.5 feet high, about 2.5 feet wide
– 3 inch rounded leaves, no point. Whorled around stem
– surrounded by low-growing weeds and natural ground cover
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR KIND ATTENTION AND TIME.
Hi Phyllis,
your plant is an annual herb known as sicklepod – Senna obtusifolia. It is considered weedy. Its former name was Cassia obtusifolia.
I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Steve Hill, Botanist, SCNPS
