A sage from Anne in SC

Posted on |

Found on the roadside in partial shade and somewhat moist in the spring in Clarendon County

Hi Anne,

this is Salvia lyrata, the lyre-leaved sage, a rather common native plant, especially common along roadsides.  It is in the mint family.

By the way, I seem to be unable to change the orientation of images. Sorry about that!

Sincerely,

Steve Hill, Botanist, SCNPS
