Richardia from Marsha in SC

Tiny white flowers growing along paths in our vegetable garden. Each flower has six pointed petals. Thanks so much.

Marsha,

Richardia brasiliensis, generally considered to be a lawn weed.  Related to coffee – Rubiaceae.

It’s in the lawn here at the Walhalla Motel.  Apparently a new county record here!  http://www.cals.ncsu.edu/plantbiology/ncsc/vulpia/pdf/Krings,%20Richardia%20exsiccatae.pdf

Sincerely,

Dr. Steven R. Hill, Botanist, SCNPS, in the wilds of Walhalla…
