found this while walking in the forest in Abbeville county and thought it was wonderful but do not know what it is. It looked like it was running along the ground on a vine.

this is an interesting plant, most are surprised to learn it is a fern. It is Lygodium japonicum, the Japanese climbing fern. Each ‘vine’ is actually a single leaf that just continues growing. It is not native, and some consider it weedy in areas south of us. I happen to like it a lot.
