A pendulous yaupon holly from John in SC

Posted on |

It’s a shrub of some sort. About three feet high, growing in semi-direct sunlight. Leaves are about half an inch long, and waxy.

Hi John,

your shrub is Ilex vomitoria cv. Pendula, a very desirable horticultural landscape plant derived from our native yaupon,  Ilex vomitoria. It was probably quite expensive when it was purchased!

Sincerely,

Steve Hill, Botanist, SCNPS
